Sprinkler irrigation is a method by which water is distributed through a system of pipes and sprinklers. This produces small water drops which fall to the ground similar to natural rainfall.  The sprinklers and operation must be designed to produce a uniform application of water using available sources such as municipal water or creeks and rivers using a pumping station.
